KATHY WHITESELL

ABOUT
I am a local Camarillo artist and an active board member of the Camarillo Art Center and this last year rejoined WVAG.

I primarily work in watercolor and have been playing with acrylic and oil paints. My award-winning paintings are of florals and landscapes, which are inspired by my love of nature’s colors and shapes. I want the viewer to see all the colors and texture in my paintings.

I have studied art at Ventura College and have taken many painting workshops over the years. I am always trying to push myself out of my comfort zone by playing with colors, texture and techniques, but really, I just want to paint and have fun.

I am currently teaching a beginner’s watercolor class because I want to share my love of seeing color and using paint texture techniques with people who have no art experience and who want to try something creative just for themselves.
