Karen Werner - Show judge
Renowned artist and teacher, Karen Werner, judged the 2021 WVAG Members Show. Karen has judged many shows for Artists Of The High Desert, Yucaipa Art Association, as well as ongoing monthly shows in conjunction with her live demonstrations.
Karen grew up in Orange County, CA and studied fine art with an emphasis on drawing and painting at California State University, Fullerton. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Studies at CSUF and a Master's Degree in Education at Claremont Graduate University. After retiring from her teaching career in 2007, she began painting professionally.
Karen studied with the following contemporary masters: Carol Marine, Greg La Rock, Jennifer Mc Christian, Quiang Huang, Joseph Todorovitch, Kim English, and Jim McVicker. She works primarily in oils, and her work in both oils and watercolor has received numerous awards in juried shows. Recently, the American Impressionist Society included her work in four consecutive National Exhibits. Her work is held in private collections across the United States and abroad.
She actively demonstrates for art associations throughout Southern California and teaches still life painting workshops in her home studio. Karen Werner is an associate member of: Artists of the Inland Empire, The California Art Club, and The American Impressionist Society.
